Mr. Litton...showed that he knows a thing or two about Verdi. The opera orchestra played powerfully under his command. Dramatic passages had special force, and there were subtleties as well, such as the flawlessly handled limping accompaniment of Rigoletto's entrance in Act 2. Overall, it was an impressive performance.

The Dallas Opera's third production of the season — Mozart's The Magic Flute, which premiered Friday evening at Fair Park Music Hall - could have wound up being only respectable and modest had it not been for the shining conducting of Andrew Litton...There was an ongoing sense of unity as one piece linked to another, and Mr. Litton endowed each with a naturalness, gentle ardor and importance that might have gone begging in less sensitive hands.
